Know Before You Buy
Compatibility & Use
Slug Butter targets are designed for use with .22 LR handguns and can also be used with lower-powered equipment, including compatible airsoft guns and BB guns.
Always verify that your specific firearm or airgun, ammunition, and target setup are appropriate for the intended use. Never exceed the target's intended caliber or power rating, and do not use ammunition or equipment outside its specified compatibility.
Set up your target in a safe, controlled shooting area with a suitable backstop. Ensure the target and its mounting system are securely positioned before use.
Target Care
A little care goes a long way! Keep your Slug Butter targets clean and dry, and store them indoors when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to rain, moisture, and harsh weather.
Inspect your target before each use for excessive wear, damage, loose components, or changes that could affect safe operation. Discontinue use if you notice damage that could compromise the target.
To refresh the target's color, touch up the surface as needed with Rust-Oleum Real Orange spray paint. Allow the paint to dry and cure completely according to the manufacturer's instructions before using the target again.
Proper storage, routine inspection, and occasional touch-ups will help keep your targets looking good and ready for use.
Bracket & Magnet Care
Keep your Slug Butter brackets clean and dry, and store them indoors when not in use. Avoid leaving the brackets exposed to moisture or harsh weather for extended periods.
Inspect the brackets, attachment points, and magnets before each use. Do not use damaged, loose, or unstable components. Make sure the target is securely mounted and stable before shooting.
Magnet safety: The brackets contain magnets that can pose a serious hazard if swallowed. Keep them out of reach of children and animals, and never allow small children to handle loose magnets. Keep magnets away from electronic devices and magnetic storage media, and follow the device manufacturer's guidance for safe separation distances.
Safety First
Safe shooting starts with responsible handling and proper setup. Always follow applicable range rules, local regulations, and the manufacturer's instructions for your firearm or airgun.
- Protect your eyes and ears. Wear appropriate eye and hearing protection while shooting and whenever required by your range.
- Use a proper backstop. Ensure your shooting area can safely contain projectiles and prevent ricochets. Position targets so projectiles cannot endanger people, animals, or property.
- Handle firearms responsibly. Always treat every firearm as loaded, keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, and keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
- Inspect before every session. Check the target, brackets, magnets, and mounting points for damage or instability. Do not use damaged or improperly secured equipment.
- Keep others at a safe distance. Never shoot toward people, animals, or areas where unintended targets could be struck.
- Store equipment securely. Keep firearms, ammunition, brackets, and magnets safely stored and out of reach of children and animals.
Slug Butter targets are intended for responsible recreational shooting. Always use equipment within its specified limits and discontinue use if any component becomes damaged or unsafe.
